It seems impossible that we have existed for 10 years. Making art? I never thought I would be able to say that. I started this thing with one little puppet, made two more and took them to a show where they all sold pretty quickly. Then I started obsessively making glass puppets, it was like every idea I had ever had came pouring out. Minotaurs, and gnomes and trapeze artists. I did exactly one contortionist, that someone out west now has--it was so delicate and intricate it came apart in the travel and that kind customer soldered it back together. I have very nice collector's -- they are always so sweet and appreciative and curious. I think I've been incredibly lucky.

In 2022, my partner in crime, artist Sam Geer joined me full time, and we've been learning how to work together--it was actually hard for us to figure it out! I'm a plow-horse, he's a bird--I'm not sure if that explains it but we just have different work styles.

Marathon Train Station, Future site of Le Puppet Regime

This year, 2023, we purchased an old Train Station as the future home of Le Puppet Regime. It is sort of sad to leave Philly, but we were priced out of art studios in the area , and the options available are depressing, or unsafe. Plus, I had never lived anywhere as long as I lived in Philadelphia, and it is Time for a change.

All this change is really exciting and discombobulating, but I like a bit of chaos, I think good stuff can happen in chaos. So let's see....

I'm going to try to keep the blog up, show a bit more of my studio and process. I'm private to a fault, but I suddenly feel the impulse to show the behind the scenes. And I'm going to do it honestly--my work happens in gigantic mess, and I'm not going to pretend it doesn't.
